The Hilltown Township Police Department is investigating two burglaries that occurred on early Monday morning in separate sections of the township.
Around 4:45 a.m., a suspect broke through the front door of the Hickory Stick Ice Cream Shop, located at 811 Telegraph Road in the Perkasie section of Hilltown Township, police said.
Once inside, the suspect stole $500 in cash from the register area before fleeing the scene, according to investigators.
Later the same day, during an unspecified time frame, a suspect also broke into Pennridge Christian Fellowship Church at 720 Blooming Glen Road in the Blooming Glen section of the township, police said.
The suspect gained access to the area where the church’s safe is kept. Police have not yet confirmed whether the same individual is responsible for both break-ins. Police did not specify if the safe or money was taken from the church.
Investigators believe the suspect may have used a full-sized, possibly two-toned pickup truck in the crime.
A nearby business captured an image of the vehicle, which has been released by police as part of the investigation.
Anyone with information or who may have surveillance footage near either location is asked to contact Hilltown Township Criminal Investigations at [email protected].
